DESCRIPTION: APW - Ball Hamilton, Ball's Standard Railroad Watch Co, grade 999E, 18S, GF OF recase, SW-LS, WE-DSD, lever escapement, 17J, wide bull's-eye pattern NI damascene, s#20672. Present example is the higher grade of the two Ball Hamilton "Railroad Watch Co" variants, a rare piece with 300 total production made in a single run from serials 20501 to 20800.
CONDITION: Mvt: GRO, fine plus mvt condition overall, bright lustrous plates, numerous MFS and some scattered FS, some oxide on regulator spring; dial with scattered hls, edge chipping from before 1 to past 2; excellent hands; case shows light wear, some MFS, missing one plug on front hinge, engraving detail reduced and ET largely lost, thin strips of brass visible on high edges of bezel and rear, brass visible on ridges of band; tight bow, crown shows medium wear; good glass crystal.
